Rm 101. Misc. Odds and Ends / Age of Democracy

I wonder how many readers are supporters of the town's football team? In the last few days, the Brexit party was due to have an election meeting in the Legends Lounge last night, but it was cancelled at the last minue. The club stated that they found out that it was a 'political rally' and so that was against their rules and thus the cancellation. Now go back to last December and the same lounge was used for a labour party meeting, which by any thought, must have been seen as political, but it was not cancelled.   You can think what you like about this club, they go through managers like I use toilet paper, and you know what that use if for, go back a few weeks and the then manager said, we need to regroup, get a few more staff in and then go forward next season, after the very next match, which they lost, it was all out, regarding staff. Now they have a conscience, so 'political meetings' are now out, well that is if you are the Brexit Party.  I wonder who leant on the club, and what is their excuse for this behaviour? Yet another marker for this 'club'...

Labour has now admitted that they want complete unrestricted border control,  so can the two prospective Labour candidates for Swindon north and south tell us where they are going to house these people when they flood in?

I see in today's democratic adver, there is an article to describe the vigil in the town centre on Saturday, to remember those killed in N Zealand last week, Can the union or the Mr Webb, say when they will have a vigil for the 112  Christians, killed last week in Nigeria, by Muslims, or is that a phobia  people have about Muslims?

Once again, we see the likes of Mr Webb, saying the closure of Honda is down to Brexit, and so all you out voters are to blame. He really needs to take a look at his side of life, The Uk cannot sign a deal with an outside country but has to go through the EU first. Over the last few months, the EU has signed a trade deal with Japan, so now Japan can now sell its goods direct to the EU countries. They have a car pant that can produce everything that was being made in the UK plant and the one in Turkey.  So there is now no need for those factories, Japan can now sell direct and save on the production costs involved.  If anybody is to blame it is the EU themselves for signing this deal in the first place, but don't expect any remainers to tell you this.

Rm 101. Misc. Odds and Ends / Re: council carve up....
« Last post by Terry Reynolds on March 02, 2019, 10:17:11 AM »
I have now been informed by the council, that the parish councils have all agreed to take on the open spaces on a lease agreement, so the council kick, to get rid of everything and pass the buck to the parish taxpayers continues..  If you then complain to the councillor responsible for financial matters, all you get back is we are doing the right thing for the town..  As Coun Martin, (are the voters of shaw proud of him) would say, Bollocks..  watch out now for even more increases on the parish tax bill..

Rm 101. Misc. Odds and Ends / Re: Council meeting
« Last post by Terry Reynolds on February 22, 2019, 09:26:03 AM »
I was, able to go to the meeting, I asked how we are expected to fund these tax rises year upon year, the council firmly stood by the rise is only 3.99% so no vote needed, well my tax package is to go up this year by £98, that is for a band d house, is that 3.99%, I will pay this year £114 for the services that two years ago, I was paying just £48 for, but that's the council loophole\fiasco parish council.  This rise for the PCC is an absolute disgrace, why are tax payers funding the police..  They refused even to think about cutting the number of borough councillors,  due to 'high demands', and yet the parish councillors are being paid for doing nothing eh. In the last 4 months, I have asked for help on three different matters, each time to be told it is nothing to do with the council. The day will come when pensioners wont be able to afford these rises, what then, will the council house them or what.
Finally to cap off the evening, you all will remember when the mayor had to resign over comments he made about  D Syndrome children, well last night a labour councillor was making a point, and he sat there and shouted out 'Bollocks'  after some chuntering, the mayor told councillors to be wary of their language !!!! Democracy....
