The sole comment (at present) sums it up fairly well:

Quote from: BCDR99
"This is a development that very few councillors supported but then they had to vote for it to avoid certain legal costs because they knew the legal case for it was too strong to deny it.

And now, the very same councillors are turning up saying how great it is while they are entertained by the developers.

Why is the school barely out of the ground yet the houses are ready to show people around when the developers said they would build the school first so it could be opened for the school year just started?

Why is construction traffic still using the local roads when a condition of the development was that a new access lane from the A419 would have to be built?

Quote Crest Nicholson Representative: “It is always nice to reach this stage of any project but I have to say this has been one of the easiest we have dealt with.

“I think one of the main reasons for that is that local councillors, parish councillors and officers have been involved and had an input from the start.

You couldn't make it up, could you? Councillors voted in to local wards based on their opposition to this development and then voted for it, now being part of the opening ceremony and being proclaimed by the developer as a push-over.

I'm not against the development by the way, merely about how it is being done in that the developer not the council appear to be pulling all the strings, calling the tunes etc, etc."

  • Hello !
I wonder if "BCDR99" is one of our members? I'm sure that he / she would fit in.

"rankest", Geoff? What could you mean? :spin:
What's it all about?

The public was given the chance to have a look last weekend, and despite only a few being built several hundred people flocked to see them.

... and they all wore suits and ties to come and see houses that look like all the other houses.

Some people need to find slightly better activities to entertain themselves.

I recognise Emma Faramarzi and Vera Tomlinson (celebrating a development they were opposed too).
Who else is a councillor in the photo?

When I look at this photo it reminds me why I don't vote Tory anymore..... Shame on the people who re-elected them.
