The report says that plans are being submitted to Wiltshire Council.

Is this area out of SBC jurisdiction.

If so, with Wiltshire Council being equally submissive with property developers, life in the area is going to be one big car crawl

It's in Wiltshire control and like Pry Farm Ridgeway Farm it's smack on the border of Swindon  :-\

Looks like the latest trend set to continue.

I wonder how long it will take for Oxfordshire and Berkshire to dump on Swindon borders.

Guess that's all we can expect after decades of "submission" to property developers

Swindon no longer has a 'rural buffer' along its Western edge.  Local Cllr's enabled and ensured its demise a few years back.

It's only a matter of time before Basset's borders begin bumping along Hook Street and Lydiard Park becomes an inland island of green like Kembrey Grass at Gorsehill and a 'visionary' leader of the council decides to give it away to a celebrity builder with his own television series.

Makes me laugh how they now try to 'sell' new development as a Tesco's with 300 houses, instead of 300 houses with a Tesco's.
Oi! Listen mush. Old eyes, remember? I’ve been around the block a few times. More than a few. They’ve knocked down the blocks I’ve been around and rebuilt them as bigger blocks. Super blocks. And I’ve been round them as well.  The Doctor (Night Terrors)

I guess that "patter" began when we were assured that the Coate  development was all about a university

a story was in the adver about how the council got 5 million for house building that had got permission, and yesterday, there was two reports of house building, only small time about 12 houses for each one, but it seems the council now have had planning approval delegated to them, so they can now approve it anywhere they fancy, so if your back yard is big, watch out..
