Stratton parish Council
« on: January 08, 2013, 07:14:21 PM »
Today we have had 2 leaflets put through our doors, in this area, about boundary changes to the parish.
the 1st change will remove coleview and nythe from the parish, (eat your heart out Mr Heenan),
the 2nd change will include groundwell ind estate and all of Hyde Road area in the parish.
the 3rd change will include all of Headlands grove, all of wheeler ave, and Jefferies ave, and all the side streets, and the goreshill allotment site in the stratton parish.  No mention in this 'consultation' that it will mean that we will then have to pay an extra £70 a year tax, nor does it exlain why the changes are required, apart from the obvious of Mr Heenan and his problems. I wonder what next :santa_wink: :santa_wink:

A bill for the parish precept  and an increase in allotment charges, so that they fall into disrepair and have to be built on to preserve them

No I think I have that wrong come to think of it wasn't that  Pickards field in Gorsehill  :santa_embarassed:

This was previously rejected?

Was that for people would drop their guard so that Dale could "have his wicked way"?

There has been consultation we've talked about it on TS and public meetings.  Nor perfect but we did know it was happening.

Having said that I think that they totally ignored what people said about taking Nythe out of Stratton.

The new Parish Council for Nythe was voted through on Thursday night despite a desperate rear guard action by the Labour Group who tried to prevent it.

It will cost the people of Nythe more money in the precept so is this a Council Tax increase by stealth?

Will it relieve our beloved Council of yet more responsibility for the provision of services, thereby achieving cuts by stealth?

and finally if there is to be a further devolution of Council why do we need fifty seven Borough Councillors?

Is Dale Heenan seeking redundancy or his sacking at the next Council Elections?

Interesting to note that both Nythe Councillors are now in the Cabinet!

No doubt Dale will have lined up suitable Candidates!!

So are the Labour Party on the case to ensure there is balance of choice available for the electorate?

Come to think of it can one stand for more than one parish council?
