Lacock - This Weekend
« on: August 16, 2012, 09:32:39 PM »
Knowing that there are a couple of miltary buffs on these threads, I thought it might be worth mentioning  this event, on during this weekend.

August 18th & 19th

Military vehicles, enactments, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, plus my little gang strutting their stuff

All in the lovely surroundings of Lacock

I think there's a smaller show for free in Whitehall garden centre, but the main event is in Parish Council Fields because it got too big for its' initial venue

Just returned from Lacock after a bit of preperation.
Apparently the Whitehall Garden Centre is a different event.

I've passed news of the event on to our war buffs IC, it looks good and at £3 cheap enough these days too.
Oi! Listen mush. Old eyes, remember? I’ve been around the block a few times. More than a few. They’ve knocked down the blocks I’ve been around and rebuilt them as bigger blocks. Super blocks. And I’ve been round them as well.  The Doctor (Night Terrors)

Lacock At War event is on again this weekend.

Despite Olive's latest login stating that I have no hobbies on another site, Mrs ICDT and myself will be getting together with some friends to muster up a couple of dancing displays.

I've recently joined the 21st century by swapping my disco deck for a laptop so I expect to make a couple of bungles with the music.

Has anyone got some camouflage net to hide the pc under?

The event is on both days again.
A Dakota will fly over on Sunday and the price is still £3 for adults

I'm off to Lacock now to assemle the dance floor
(Which I designed and built despite having no hobbies  :2funny: )

First time I.ever got drunk was at Lacock Abbey. I was 7 iirc.

During my inebriation I fell off a childrens roundabout, got my leg caught under it and flayed a fair.amount of shin off my foot.  Happy days :)

I think I was a page/squire or sommat in a Sealed Knot bash there.  I wasn't allowed a musket......

I is going to David Austin roses. Near Wolverhampton.

I shall not be taking alcohol.

Though, I am now.

I might have given it a go, I have happy memories of Paddock Wood, and would buy a tank, and a jeep, if Mr Camelot sorted himself out. Panther, probably.

I rode a bicycle down a slide once.
Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don’t know what your rights are, or who the person is you’re talking to. Then, on the way out, slam the door.

Well I've just got back from assembling the dance floor.

Didn't see a slide (and if you ride a bike across my floor I'll bite yer ankles)

There's a row of green portaloos. Might be able to knock up a tank look-a-like out of them.

There's also a small armoured car tucked up in a corner. Shall I make a bid ?

I'll keep me eye open for a musket too >:D

The A-team could build a working tank out of a few oil drums and a length of garden house.

Yep. All in the time it took the theme tune to finish  :o

Mind you, you had to "find them"

I'll be at Lacock again tomorrow.

Hoping for better weather for a dakota display
