politics now has sunk even lower, thanks to Labour...
« on: November 03, 2011, 01:10:53 PM »

At the weekly Prime Ministers question time in the Commons, it is normal now to see Mr Balls waving his hands about, like a swan on heat, but yesterday the party sunk even lower in its gestures.
Ms Eagle, who is the shadow Leader of the House, was seen, as Mr Cameron was speaking, she was sat opposite,  waving her little finger at him in a 'little tiddler' motion,  I can't say what she thought she was doing, or if it was a good and proud thing to do, but I have to ask, with her Gender, how does she know?!!!. :WTF:

Normal?! I've never seen a swan on heat. Gas mark five? Oven or hob-top? Or should that be cob-top? I've never seen a swan in heat either - and certainly never one with hands!

First a swan with hands, now and eagle with a little finger... Its a march of the mutants.

Whereas the cognisenti know Cameron is in possession of a mighty honourable member which, 'with his gender', can be confirmed by the entire lower 6th at Eton 1984 after an unfortunate incident involving a hotdog bun, Mrs Adams the Art mistress, a bust of Sir Winston Churchill and some brasso.

(Oh, that was probably after he got punished for smoking dope. Nothing important in that, apart from if Eton Dave had decided to become a Labour politician, you-know-who would have mentioned it.)

Ha!, if K thinks some bird waggling a pinkie is bad he ought to watch his mates gurning from the cabinet seats in the council chamber!

Mother of all Parliaments that is, makes you proud to be British (assuming that's still legal) and sleep soundly in your bed.

They're worth an easy £100k pa each of anyone's money.

I'd vote for each of them three or four times every election instead of me usual twice if I could.

Honest

Tobes, did I mention the photo of Mr Balls, at his oxford days party, dressed up as a nazi, giving the salute as well..........
as for the muppet show, it must be both sides of the house then......when they are there.

I have to confess that although trying to loathe them all equally there is a special place in my heart for Mr Balls.

Hateful to my mind.

Mr Cameron accuses 'Mad Nad' of sexual frustration, Angela Eagle waves her little finger about... can't we just seal them inside parliament til they grow up a bit?

Hi - I think you mean 'sexual orientation' as opposed to Gender - the latter referring to male or female, the former to her being a Lesbian.

Perhaps her waggling of her little finger is an allusion to a part of the female anatomy which as i recall,  Germaine Greer referred to as the G spot. I can only summise this to be the case.

Whatever, i think the point to be made is twofold. The first is - why do our elected representatives feel the need to act in such an infantile manner, and given Ms eagle was the member who expressed such faux outrage at being 'spoken down to' when asked to "calm down my dear' does she not realsie what a hypocritical stance she is portraying - assuming she did mean to make some sexual connotation with her getsure.

I think, but not really sure, that there is something unhealthily chauvanistic about this thread so far.  What are you lot on about, whatever it is it's made you very excited - but not very lucid.

Ah Ah Bas, I didn't read the first post, or at least not properly,  something about PMQ's so will watch it to see.

K.
Is this really such a big deal? I believe  that the Deputy Leader of Swindon Borough Council once threatened to do something to councillor Montaut's crutch in a meeting of the council, do you know if that is true?

Yuk this really has taken a downward turn, Deriques nether regions is not a picture I want conjured up, just before dinner.

Well I watched PMQ's (now have an headache)  I saw the gesture from Ed Balls to which Ko referred - thats the gesture for the flatlining of the economy, so nothing particualry yuk about that.  But I saw nothing apart from a scratching of the nose from that side, saw the same behind the PM and old Clarkey was fidgeting quite a lot and he with the good head of hair, flicked that several times.  But nothing anyone should be ashamed of particularly.

But my goodness aren't the questions well stage managed.

PMQs is a fairly redundant exercise, not unlike professional wrestling. Lots of posturing, preening and grand gestures, but the punches don't land.

:agreed:  What a waste of money. Time for a radical alternative. It is the epitome of all that is bad about politics. No wonder so many people have given up being engaged in it. Just fodder for the media to play games.

Yea Muggins it's like Rod's twisted thing next door to the burger van off Regents Street.

I wonder how much that cost incidentally?

GS was referring to Deriques other leg Muggins, the one that was not propped up on crutches.  The comment made by Perkins demanded an apology or his being thrown out of the chamber  Sadly it meant Mayor Wren would have had to intervene to maintain the propriety of proceedings, but presumably through some misguided sense of loyalty to his party he failed to do so.  Pity and a very bad reflection on the office of Mayor and his lack of impartiality!

Now if the electorate were to have seen this and other incidents I don't think the deputy leader would ever be elected again.

When are we going to have proceedings recorded for posterity, so this and other bad behaviour can be shown up for what it is?  I have asked about this at full Council and the administration seems to use every reason why this had not been achieved.  Now maybe a promise from the opposition parties to implement this immediately will help them next May.

Euro Politics now has sunk even lower, thanks to Tories.....

Cameron left the Cannes G20 a little crimson faced after being overheard prodding the Germans, who then left early. Sarko snubbed Cameron,  when will Cam learn not to point as it's rude?

Has the Conservative party dragged down Euro politics to a level  lower than a snakes belly? :2funny:

I don't think we need to go into the Council Chamber to see the 'behaviour', we only have to listen to interviews on the radio and use a little imagination.

Why is such behaviour allowed by each parties own sides.  The reprimands and expected standards should come from within.

As ever good points, however it's all in the "mix" of "robust political debate" and as politicans are drawn from society they reflect the society they are drawn from. I believe let the politican who behaves cast the first stone, if that is the case then we would all be safe to meet in a glass chamber!

Politics is emotive, it's passionate, and an individuals exhuberance, enthusiasm  are often dulled by frustration, tinged with anger. I try to inject a bit of humour or satire to take the tension out of it, but in an interview situation it is down to the interviewer to balance that interview. Ask Des Morgan, or Bob Wright.

Radio is the theatre of the mind and as we all know relying on your ears to paint a picture can have some interesting results! Following a sporting event on the wireless has an excitement all of its own or for that matter a play, don't you think?

Did people pushing or aged around 60 ish listen to more wireless as they grew up than younger generations do now? I still  listen to a lot of programmes on the wireless and enjoy it.
All posts on this forum are my own and do not represent the views of any council political party or organisation.

I listen, well have the raido on! whilst here with the PC, I usually listen to BBC Wiltshire - not so good now it's not just Swindon again, but early mornrings are good for the newsy stuff.  I usually remember to turn over to 105.5fm and listen to Bob and Des on Mondays, and I shall try to catch the Penhill programme when it goes on.

As I've seen most of the politicians in action 'live' I can imagine them when being interviewed.
Of course, bluster and bad tempere comews over loud and clear without that mental picture.

Do they get 'dealing with the media' and 'presentation' training?  But it doesn't really matter, if they did, it might train out some of the things that make those interviews very telling.
