Quote from: Gobsmacked Des Morgan
“Why aren’t they paying their £1,000-a-month interest to the council? You’d have thought they’d do that as a priority.”

The grant cash is from Swindon-based government quango, the Technology Strategy Board (TSB).  The TSB will give £99,000 to Digital City and £232,000 to aQovia over the next 20 months – £331,000 in total.  It will fund research, starting this month, into software and programmes which can be used on the wi-fi network.

Is that ontop of the £400k? I hope the TSB have also contacted Companies house about the accounts and start asking questions as that is £331k of government money isn't it?  £771,000 pounds that is a lot of spondoolicks!

Original summary press release and full press release. The latter states that the project is lead by aQovia UK Ltd. I can't find any reference to it in their lists of funded projects (links bottom of that page), even though the other projects funded at the same time are listed.

Not long after that money-awarding was announced, the press release pdf link returned an error message and has ever since.

I reckon the TSB kept ahold of their money.
