Interesting, I wish her well, she is up against a well liked and local resident Corrina Allen for UKIP. I am surprised as I always had the impression when I worked with Emma at Swindon 105.5 (FSB programme) she was 'A' political.

Here's a thought perhaps she's the secret DC partner given her professional expertise. >:D >:D >:D

With a comment like this I do not think so  >:D

Quote
Emma Faramarzi, chair of the FSB’s Swindon Branch, has said this is the second time in seven months the council has spent public investment money – totalling almost £1m – outside the town. “Swindon council has assured local businesses under the business charter that we would be consulted - especially after £500,000 was spent during the Big Weekend fiasco,” she said. “That money should have been reserved to help businesses recover the recession, same as the £450,000 going towards wi-fi.”

Is this the same leaflet in which Justin Tomlinson MP and Cllr Dale Heenan Cabinet Member for Thumb Twiddling   former Planning Chair and member of planning committee  have Scrapped  the Eastern Development?  :2funny: I am sure Cllr Greenhalgh and the Leader Rod Bluh have something to say about their independent  action! If they have single handedly (well between them scrapped it) why is there  a Fight Back meeting to discuss it at Wanborough Village Hall on 4th April at 7pm? It all sounds a bit  :fish:

Coun Gary Sumner said: “South Marston had a number of large industrial developments on the edge of it, and it blighted it.”

“This will have that effect. Put the housing aside for one second, and take the industrial development.

“Where are the lorries going to go? They’re going to go either into the Dorcan area to reach the motorway network, or they’ll drive through Covingham and Commonhead.

“And the only improvement to the road network is traffic lights at Commonhead. That’s not enough to deal with the traffic problem.”

He also said that labelling the closely-linked patches of housing as “villages” was nothing but a marketing tool.

“Living in a village sounds a lot nicer than living in a 7,500-home housing development,” he said.

Yes I knew her views on both things, which is why I am surprised she is standing as a Tory. Unless it is to covertly infiltrate and change parties. Seems to be all the rage these days. I will of course ask her. She is a fiery character and would certainly liven up the chamber.

It seems Emma has always been a Tory and yes she still feels the same way about wifi and the Big Weekend money.

On another note has she stated to you or anyone else, that if she is elected then she will stand down as Chair person of the FSB?

Isn't Emma replacing Glenn Smith ?

Glenn was black-spotted after criticising, (and in the scrutiny committee was not very helpful to Roderick Bluh as he [Rod] wanted to rush an extra £250,000 to Rikki), the Wifi'asco.

I very much doubt that Emma will continue, or indeed be permitted, to be critical of the Rodigarch if she is elected.  If Roderick Bluh is still the leader of the Conservative group after May 2010 I fully expect Emma to have a Damascean conversion similar to the one Kevin Leakey underwent when his pre-candidature criticism of Rod Bluh's porch on the platform turned into glowing praise for it once his candidature was announced.

I haven't found an entirely appropriate descriptive for this yet, but I'm thinking along the lines of the Stepford Wives  ;D

It's also possible that Emma might already have been led to believe that Rod Bluh's 'leadership' is in tatters and will not survive as leader past May.  If so, and if she is elected, I think her unaltered presence in the chamber would be interesting.

Woss wrong with Surrey?
Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don’t know what your rights are, or who the person is you’re talking to. Then, on the way out, slam the door.

I think Kohima objects to that Asian chap parachuting in from Surrey to stand against Justin Tomlinson in North Swindon last year.

Being from Surrey is nothing to be ashamed of.....

I've read that twice, I still feel vaguely insulted, but can't quite put me finger on it.

Gorgeous but too damn expensive, bit like meself actually.

Did Robert Buckland finally move himself into Swindon last Christmas or was it the one before?  :fish:
