Introducing Des Moffatt
Des Moffatt has been a Western Councillor on Thamesdown from 1983 to 1996 and on Swindon from 2004. He seeks your support to be re-elected.
Des has lived in Ferndale Road since 1968 and worked in the hydraulics factory on Cheney Manor for 38 years.
A life long Unite the union member he has campaigned successfully on a number of issues.
His family attended local schools and he has always been an active member of Western Communities. When Keith Small died in 2003 Kevin persuaded Des to take up the formal role again on behalf of local residents.
While a recognised expert on housing he has in recent times concentrated on finance as the Labour opposition lead member.
Despite Tory self belief in financial matters they have wasted £400,000 on WiFi, £350,000 on Tabernacle stones, £64.000 on a canal survey and £240,000 on a dribbling tin ornament in the town centre. Worst of all they have borrowed £63 million in the last two years as Des exposed during the recent budget round.
Keep the Labour team working for Western and Swindon
