New Cabinet...who's to be Home Sec?
« on: May 12, 2010, 10:37:30 AM »
As they all line up for jobs, the Home Sec. job is glaringly slow to be fi8lled.
Not such a poisoned chalice now that the Identification Register is to be repealed ( correct me where I go wrong here R an' J ).

A coup for the Libs. with 5 jobs promised..
I want to believe these 5 appointees will squeeze out the grade C sTories from their lower perches. Maybe we'll see high ranking sTories doing things like being Football Minister, ( who was shadow footbal minister? Swire? Does he know about fottball or does he support Chelsea?)

Shame it wasn't David Davis.  As the man who resigned and stood for re-election on a civil liberties stance and was previously the shadow home secretary would have had my vote.

Well said Aligator when Davis resigned the Conservative Home Office message got lost in nomansland.  Cameron was looking for an excuse to remove him and sadly Davis provided him with one!

Erm, Norman Tebbitt.
Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don’t know what your rights are, or who the person is you’re talking to. Then, on the way out, slam the door.

What about the Borough Council cabinet?
Who will fill the 2 vacancies that we are currently aware of?
Education and the Development of Swindon.
Vacated by Perkins and Young?
Heenan for Young's old job?
Bray for Education?
Come on Steve W you must have some insider information.

The Micro-cabinet met last night to discuss appointments and strategy.  Won't tell you any more than that because they're mole-hunting  ;)
