Temporary Contractor Permits
« on: April 13, 2010, 09:08:51 AM »
I'm about to have my bathroom done.  In days of old when the handyman arrived, I would have quickly popped to the council offices for a temporary permit so he could park on the street - in and out within ten minutes.  Just checking SBC website, that option has been taken from me.  Now it appears I need to present myself with a copy of his log book for the van and a copy of the contract of work between us - and pay for the privilege.   I really do f*cking hate this cuntcil council with a passion.

:argh:

Contractors' Permits

If you are having work carried out and you need a contractor (e.g. a builder or electrician) to use a Residents' Parking bay, then you can apply for a special temporary permit for them.

These can be used Monday to Friday, up to 5.30pm.

You must provide proof of both the ownership of the vehicle concerned and your contract of work with them.

The fee is £6 per week.

Sadly that's just another sign of the fact that the central wards are seen as a milking parlour by SBC.  Politically they have no councillors to lose by taxing you to death, so they'll do just that.

I wonder if kevin Leakey, the aspiring blue councillor for Central, has a view on this?   :-\

I would have thought that Bluh and his gang would have some sympathy with the Painter and Decorator, after all Hitler started that way.
