"This council notes the offensive remarks published by a labour party council candidate Geoff Reid, the failure of that person to make an apology and the failure of the leader of the opposition to condemn this behaviour by refuting the statement.  This council is of the view that such remarks are completely inappropriate and harmful to the democratic process.  This councils calls upon the labour leader to condemn these remarks in public, to call upon his own candidate to withdraw the remarks and to issue a complete and unreserved apology to council."

I think not, and....diddums

Well, how thoroughly useful is this. Many thanks Geoff.
In a world bereft of hope, lost to immeasurable inhumanity,   entrenched in commercial exploitation, devoid of hope, where's my underpants?

Thanks Geoff, may the Bronte heritage now come forth and be recognised ( 'specially by me).

What happened to this Forum then?

A couple of poems from the Muggins Clan:

The usual festive poem to the tune of Good King Wenceslas this year...

Christmas comes but once a year
From August to December
They put a lot of signs in shops
To make sure we remember
Baby Jesus' birthday
Is a time for Celebrations,
Buy a tin and get one free
Eat without moderation.

Can we get to Toys R Us
To buy a Robot Blaster?
Rammed up someone's bumper
I am sure we'll get there faster
As we join the mighty queue
The Christmas jingles rattle
Voices raised but not in praise
As through the crowds we battle.

Ceaseless our endeavours are
To have festive perfection
If the turkey isn't great
Phenomenal dejection!
Gleefully they rub their hands
Who sell our hearts' desires
What a shame it's all a con
And we're the willing buyers.

Festive wishes to you all
We hope this year's no hassle
Online shopping's there on call
To give you time to wassail
Relax, enjoy have a rest
Because you must remember
It will all start up again
Next year in September!!

:-)

and

Festive thoughts 2011

Oh the weather outside is raining
And everyone's complaining
The economy just won't grow
Let it go, let it go, let it go!

People worried about their pension
As the News racks up the tension
Like something's about to blow
Let it go, let it go, let it go!

It's a time that we all should decide
That we live in a world full of wonder
With freedoms no one should deride
Far away from a life torn asunder

So be happy that bombs aren't falling
You can hear the robins calling
Enjoy a little warm glow and
Let it go, let it go, let it go!

Merry Christmas all. :santa_smiley:

Get a couple of bits of wood and fix them together in a considered and planned way.

I understand joinery is a rewarding hobby and can provide a source of income.
