A couple of poems from the Muggins Clan:
The usual festive poem to the tune of Good King Wenceslas this year...
Christmas comes but once a year
From August to December
They put a lot of signs in shops
To make sure we remember
Baby Jesus' birthday
Is a time for Celebrations,
Buy a tin and get one free
Eat without moderation.
Can we get to Toys R Us
To buy a Robot Blaster?
Rammed up someone's bumper
I am sure we'll get there faster
As we join the mighty queue
The Christmas jingles rattle
Voices raised but not in praise
As through the crowds we battle.
Ceaseless our endeavours are
To have festive perfection
If the turkey isn't great
Phenomenal dejection!
Gleefully they rub their hands
Who sell our hearts' desires
What a shame it's all a con
And we're the willing buyers.
Festive wishes to you all
We hope this year's no hassle
Online shopping's there on call
To give you time to wassail
Relax, enjoy have a rest
Because you must remember
It will all start up again
Next year in September!!
