Beehive Christmas Charity night - videos
« on: December 24, 2008, 09:55:54 PM »

On 22nd December, the Beehive held a night of assorted entertainment in aid of Swindon Climate Action Network. I took my DV camera along, and here are the results....

The first band on stage were the Roly Banjovee Orchestra, who are probably best described as a banjo quintet in hi-viz jackets and woolly hats.

Next up were the Sweet Plums, who sounded far better in real life than they do in this video. The distorted sound is entirely my own fault for standing right next to the PA system  :bottom:

The night included an open-mic slot, at which this talented chap played a few songs on the keyboard.

And who's this, reciting his own poem enticing people to come to the Beehive?

Finally, I have a couple of samples of the Erin Bardwell Quartet, from shortly before my battery ran out. I'm rather surprised I hadn't heard of this band before, seeing as they're local and they certainly got the audience dancing with their quality ska/reggae sounds.

We are all in this together, but some of us are more in it than others (with apologies to George Orwell)

Hahahahaa.....

Quality Poetry from James  :santa_afro:
"This council notes the offensive remarks published by a labour party council candidate Geoff Reid, the failure of that person to make an apology and the failure of the leader of the opposition to condemn this behaviour by refuting the statement.  This council is of the view that such remarks are completely inappropriate and harmful to the democratic process.  This councils calls upon the labour leader to condemn these remarks in public, to call upon his own candidate to withdraw the remarks and to issue a complete and unreserved apology to council."

I think not, and....diddums

First time I heard few of them but all are good. For whom you used this charity? I will definitely participate in it as well as tell to my friends.
