B*llshit Exports Recession Proof?
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:10:47 PM »
Brown said British troops were combating a "chain of terror" coming from the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan "and could end up in the cities and towns of Britain."

The Taleban Air Force is ready to launch, erm, nothing. The Taleban Navy is very modest and any ground troops would obviously never make it through our robust border controls, I think Tunbridge Wells is safe from a concerted Taleban assault for now.

Britain is providing $10 million to help with the registration of voters now underway ahead of Afghan presidential polls due to take place next September, Brown announced

Afghanistan will have nothing to do with sterling you see, $ only. Wonder how much body armour you could buy with $10,000,000?

London has also offered to set up a multi-agency task force, Brown said, to help the Afghan government fight corruption that analysts agree is endemic within ministries and the judicial system and is a big factor boosting support for the Taliban.

Multi agency task force, mmm, that'll do the trick. Roll up, roll up, jobs for the boys. Interesting reports elsewhere on how much a civil servant can pulldown in a 'warzone' there should be no shortage of volunteers willing to civilise Johnny Foreigner,

Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don’t know what your rights are, or who the person is you’re talking to. Then, on the way out, slam the door.

Sounds like Gordon is planning to build his own Haliburton/Blackwater empire.  Afgordonistan.

Am mildly disappointed  no Mujahadeen managed to pop a cap in his ass during his visit.

Wonder whether he, or any other minister for that matter, will be attending any military funerals in the near future......

Admirable restraint showed by our lads again, the gurning troll doing his best 'My pain is your pain' with one eye on the polls and not one of them takes a pop.

Sort out his legacy a treat wouldn't it?

Is it only me but does he not look a complete twat ambling around in his business suit at the 'front line'? How about his next few roving cabinet sessions being held in Helmand province, for a year or however long it takes two.

At least Michael Heseltine had the good sense to at least attempt to blend in.....

On a different note, I see George Dubbya got a traditional and heartfelt goodbye from at least one Iraqi yesterday as an angry journo lobbed his shoes at him.  Showing the soles of your shoes is a traditional insult I'm told.....chucking your odour-eaters as well is probably a life-long curse, (with any luck).

Iraqi journalist, Muntazer al-Zaidi, hurled his first shoe shouting:

Quote
"This is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog,"

Then, as he hurled his other shoe at Dubbya he shouted something that sounded to me like:

Quote
"This is from all the widows and orphans of Iraq"

Well said...shame his aim wasn't better.

Most of the British press are choosing not to report Al-Zaidi's words fully.

I'm going to carry a spare pair of shoes where ever I go - and I urge you to do the same.

Anarchy in the Shoe, 'K!

Aha!, I've found someone who has reported it fully, Toby Harnden, US editor of the Torygraph.

Quote
As he flung the shoes, al-Zaidi shouted in Arabic: "This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog..."This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." He was not arrested and will apparently face no punishment for his attack.

I think I'd love a t-shirt with a shoe on it, and a suitable slogan...
how about.."Goodbye Kiss" or "Goodbye W"
