As it is now April of course.

Will it even be pulled down this year 2011?

There seemed to be an element of doubt expressed in Council or was I getting too bored again?

There's a hell of a lot of grafitti on the old college windows, suggesting people are getting into the building. For safety's sake, could they pull it down soon?

At Council on Thursday night the Tories became angry about their belief that the Labour Group talk down Swindon.

Why would they need to do that because Swindon's visitors see for themselves the degeneration of the Town Centre, they are not blind to the derelict college building, the empty spaces filled with saplings and the swathe of To Let boards throughout the shopping areas.

Hardly the sign of an Innovative and Vibrant town, and they cannot even get the Award Winning Free Wi-fi!

You know it makes sense

A couple of years ago Cllr Nick Martin suggested turfing over the disused building sites until the economy picked up. The community could use them and they wouldn't look so awful. Of course nothing ever happened and we no longer have the rangers of gardeners to maintain it, but I always thought it was a good idea.

Perhaps we could start growing some Virginia Creeper over the old college building to screen it?

Anyone see the bit on BBC News this mornring?  About the fight for demolition sites, going mad for them apparently, to get the metal out.

Has anyone pointed them in the direction of the college building, or is it all held up with string?

  • Hello !

From a distance, those windows look like they are metal framed Muggins. On the plus side, someone has thoughtfully removed the glass already!
