I was, able to go to the meeting, I asked how we are expected to fund these tax rises year upon year, the council firmly stood by the rise is only 3.99% so no vote needed, well my tax package is to go up this year by £98, that is for a band d house, is that 3.99%, I will pay this year £114 for the services that two years ago, I was paying just £48 for, but that's the council loophole\fiasco parish council.  This rise for the PCC is an absolute disgrace, why are tax payers funding the police..  They refused even to think about cutting the number of borough councillors,  due to 'high demands', and yet the parish councillors are being paid for doing nothing eh. In the last 4 months, I have asked for help on three different matters, each time to be told it is nothing to do with the council. The day will come when pensioners wont be able to afford these rises, what then, will the council house them or what.
Finally to cap off the evening, you all will remember when the mayor had to resign over comments he made about  D Syndrome children, well last night a labour councillor was making a point, and he sat there and shouted out 'Bollocks'  after some chuntering, the mayor told councillors to be wary of their language !!!! Democracy....
