Jobs for the Boys..
« on: June 17, 2016, 09:57:40 AM »
If you read the adver today, you can see how this un democratic council rewards failed councillors, they give out £6000 jobs to them. what a disgrace, if only the people of Swindon would vote to put them out, and as a bye line, also read how the money spent on the council wifi dream is about to be kicked into touch.. and you can read how councillors who voted for this dream say its rubbish.....You couldn't make it up.. :WTF:

The Adver has been a gold mine of SBC incompetence etc. the past week or so.  Back in the good old days this place would have been buzzing.

I guess if SBC keep an eye on here they must think they've won the war of attrition on critics of the council so they can do what they like.

Dodgy appointments of ousted cllrs
500 homes off Pipers Way
Grass cutting (or lack off)
4G Wireless internet
Thamesdown drive
Potential demolition of tented market
Flooding because drains haven't been cleared

Ah, happy days, happy days...

Also, the (intended) undemocratic introduction of parish councils
Proud to be gone

Yes your right, in the happy days, this site would have ripped them apart, but now nothing, so sad.. and the council incompetence rolls on.... I even tweeted to a councillor and asked if they had anymore £6000 jobs going but no reply....

It's a lot more than that.

1) Re-designing road junctions which take years, not months to complete, causing traffic jams all over town
2) Cutting back our bus services to the point that no one bothers to use them.
3) Allowing a certain utility company to close a cycle path for an entire winter without providing them with an alternative route.
4) Allowing thousands of houses and flats to be built in every little space around the town, yet doing nothing to encourage firms to open factories/office blocks to provide the  new residents with jobs.
5) Discouraging retailers from opening stores in the town (Lakeland)
6) Re-introducing parking charges in parks, which resulted in people parking outside them last time.
7) Pushing to have a relief road built that will cause more congestion on our roads - not less, which will lead to more houses being built, disruption to bus services, and cross a major cycle route into town.

I can think of many more, but I'd be on here all day.

Add the 2 million given to the bus company who were reported to have then bought 10 new buses, but then when asked, they said they only bought 4. and the ones they have got are now breaking down at a rate of 1 plus a day..
two what I would call loyal councillors at the last election were shown the door and then they gave a back door job to a beaten councillor, :2funny:
