Yet Another Dodgy Deal
« Reply #3 on: March 23, 2017, 09:37:46 AM »
With so few comments on this site now I didn't see the point in starting a new thread but, the following event seems worth mentioning.

Following the environmental disaster, at Marshgate, there are plans to construct two chimneys and instal a biomass furnace.
Given the amount of time it took to put out the fires at the Averies site, the health impact that fire had on residents, the loss of trade to the nearby retail and leisure outlets, I'm surprised these plans haven't been torn up at the onset.

http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/15174234.Objections_to_Marshgate_plans_continue_to_mount/

It gets worse, if the first comment in The Adver is anything to go by.

The claim is that the Averies brothers are not involved in the future plans and a company called Bromview are "at the helm"

The first comment begins as follows
"Bromview Ltd was formed at the end of January and is a dormant company with one identified director - Mr Ceri Richard Jones. Mr Jones is a 'professional' company director and currently is listed as holding 188 appointments at 188 active companies, although he has already resigned from 1156 companies he held directorships in - all of this in a little over 7 years."

The internet is packed with information of the perils of being a "director" in name only (which may, or may not be what is happening with this deal)

Can we rely on SBC to carry out due diligence on this planning process? I suspect not, but happy to be proved wrong.
