SBC for a grilling today over Averies fire
« on: June 18, 2015, 07:33:52 AM »
Just heard on the news that senior Swindon councillors are going to face a grillling (or should that be bar-b-que?) over the handling of the Averies fire and surrounding issues, by police, fire officials and the environment agency.

No links on local media as yet (and rather typically) - but watch this space. Please post up info as and when you spot it.

Will SBC be exonerated...?  ::)

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it - [attributed to] Voltaire... 'Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessita' - William of Occam.... 'You have a right to feel offended, but just cos you are offended doesn't mean you are right'

Which Fire?

If it's Marshgate yes they will be exonerated - it's the duty of the Environment Agency to deal with breaches of Licence concitions.

If it's Swindon Skips then the issue is not so clear. A sensible Landlord would not have let the situation develop to such an extent.
